Where Vibrant Living comes

Naturally

-

Constellar is nestled amongst the semi-rural community of Cardup, just beyond Byford and around 48km by car from the Perth CBD. Residents can enjoy an active, outdoors-based lifestyle, surrounded by wide open space, hiking, mountain biking and horse-riding trails, and the 70-hectare Cardup Nature Reserve, right next door.

As part of the fast-growing Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, Cardup is poised to benefit from the region’s exciting growth. The future $1 billion Tonkin Highway extension and Metronet’s future Byford train station are transforming ease of access to Perth and surrounding employment hubs, unlocking new opportunities for locals to bask in modern living while enjoying Cardup’s tranquil surrounds and easy, natural way of life.

A nature lover's PLAYGROUND

-

Cardup Nature Reserve is a standout feature of the area. This vast 70-hectare ‘Bush Forever’ site borders the eastern boundary of Constellar, opening up a haven of jarrah-marri forest, banksia woodland, seasonal wetlands and creeks. It is also home to 14 species of reptiles and 52 species of birds like the Tawny Frogmouth, Splendid Fairywren and Sacred Kingfisher.

Nearby, the picturesque Darling Scarp beckons adventurers to explore. Take on the Kitty’s Gorge Walk Trail – a 17km return track winding through granite outcrops, waterfalls, wildflowers and Gooralong Brook. Or hike the Baldwin’s Bluff Trail that climbs through Serpentine National Park, rewarding you with sweeping summit views. Nearby Serpentine Dam and the Kingsbury Tourist Drive also offer the perfect day out for picnics and sightseeing.

LAND OF opportunity

-

Cardup lies on the traditional lands of the Noongar people. Its name is believed to have derived from Kurda, meaning “place of the racehorse goanna”, a powerful connection to country that is woven into the land.

By the early 20th century, Cardup had become a hub for dairy farming, drawing families seeking opportunity to its fertile soils. In 1903, John Millard founded the Cardup Steam Pressed Brick Company, which would grow to become one of Western Australia’s leading producers of pressed shale bricks until its closure in 2012. The surrounding jarrah and marri forests supported a booming timber trade, while the region’s soil and climate proved ideal for vineyards and wineries.

Today, the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale still carries reminders of its pioneering origins. From the Fremnells Dairy site remnants on Hopkinson Road, to the Old Bolinda Vale Farmhouse in Keysbrook, and the ruins of Longbottom’s Cottage on Gordon Road, a proud history lives on, quietly etched into the landscape.

Weaving into the

Community fabric

-

Constellar is proud to be guiding Cardup’s evolution into a vibrant, modern community, while staying true to its relaxed, semi-rural character. Over the next decade, we’ll welcome more than 1,300 new families to the area, and we’re deeply committed to doing this in a way that respects and enhances what already makes Cardup unique. That means protecting mature trees, designing generous green spaces, and ensuring the development ‘speaks’ to the surrounding bush and farmland.

Constellar is also weaving itself into the very fabric of the community. Through events, initiatives and future shared spaces, we’re planning to bring the Cardup community together, both from within and beyond the estate.

THRIVING COMMUNITY. Bright future.

-

Cardup is part of a region on the rise. Over the next 30 years, the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is set to undergo unprecedented transformation, driven by rapid population growth, booming tourism and major infrastructure investments. Together, these forces are reshaping the region into one of WA’s most dynamic and desirable places to live.

Nearly two families move into the Shire every day, with the population expected to more than double by 2046. That’s in addition to the nearly 200,000 visitors drawn each year to the Shire’s natural beauty and outdoor attractions. This momentum is driving demand for everything from retail to education and recreation, all while opening the door to exciting opportunities in eco-tourism and accommodation.

Connectivity is also being enhanced. The future $1B Tonkin Highway Extension will transform how people move through the region, making access to Perth and beyond easier than ever.

Constellar builds on this exciting momentum. We're creating a connected, future-ready community that taps into Cardup’s semi-rural charm while embracing the benefits of growth.
